Psychological support for children and their parents
Let’s nurture courage for life in our children’s and our own hearts
I provide individual in-person consultations for parents and their wonderful children.
I know how worrying it can feel when:
– your child gets angry, doesn’t listen, feels anxious or afraid without a clear reason,
– at school or kindergarten you are told that “something needs to be done,”
– or maybe you simply feel in your heart that something might be “not quite right.”
🧡 Very often, a child’s troubling behavior is actually a call for help.
Sometimes it is our own anxiety or the gap between what we expect and reality.
But everything can be understood. Everything can be worked through, step by step.
🧸 Play therapy (ages 4–10)
Play is the language of children.
When it’s hard for a child to talk about their feelings, they can always show them through play. That’s why in my work I apply the Violet Oaklander model of play therapy.
🎓 I am a certified play therapy practitioner.
We play simple, familiar games. Sometimes we draw, sculpt, build in the sand tray, or play with figurines. They may seem like simple activities, but if we know how to look at them, they reveal so much more.
🤝 Consultations take place together with parents or partially, because it’s important that consistency continues at home. I guide parents on how to play in a therapeutic way so that the child can always feel safe and supported.
📊 Assessment of children’s emotional well-being
Sometimes it’s important to better understand what is happening with a child. In such cases, an emotional well-being assessment is carried out to help see the bigger picture.
🧰 I use a variety of methods:
– drawing and creative tasks,
– the unfinished sentences method,
– sand play,
– ASEBA behavior questionnaires,
– conversations with parents.
🕓 This requires 3–5 sessions, with a total duration of 3–5 hours.
The goal is to help the family better understand the child, not to provide evaluations for institutions.
👨👩👧 Consultations for parents and children
The first consultation is always held with a parent (mother or father) together with the child.
After that, we decide:
– whether individual consultations are needed for the child,
– or sometimes more for the parents,
– or for the whole family together.
Each child’s situation is unique, so we always create an individual plan and goals.
📌 Sometimes an additional assessment is needed. Sometimes – regular consultations for the child. And sometimes conversations with you, the parents, so that you can learn to “play therapeutically” with your child.
❓ When is it worth seeking help?
– When behavior raises concerns (withdrawal, aggression, impulsivity, difficulties at school),
– After major life changes (moving, divorce, changing schools),
– After traumatic events (loss, violence, accidents),
– When relationships, friendships, or communication are difficult,
– Or simply when you feel that your child is not well, even if there is no clear reason.
💶 Price and duration
– Consultations for children and parents: €35
– Duration: 50–60 min.
– Consultations with children under 10 years old take place only in person.
(Online consultations for children are not very effective, as real contact and live play are essential.)
If you are reading this, it means you are already thinking about support for your child.
